How to Edit a Pin's Link on Pinterest

how to update pins on pinterst I recentlyish made the switch from Blogger to Wordpress. While I maintain that it was the best decision I ever made, there were a couple of cons. The main one being that all my links changed (because I didn't pay attention to all of Gina's instructions... Oops). This means that all my Disqus comments, Pins and even Bloglovin were messed up. I figured out the Bloglovin and Disqus, but my pins on Pinterest from my blog were all on the fritz. When I say "on the fritz", I mean that anytime someone would click on the old Blogger-structured link pins, they would be greeted with this lovely page instead of my actual post:

Error 404 Page Pinterest

Talk about a great way to up your bounce rate! I knew this was bad for my site, but I have some pins with 200-300 repins, which is a lot for me. I didn't want to delete my most popular pins because they at least drove some traffic to my site. But here's my AH HA moment! I have figured out how to change the link of your pins (and a bunch of other stuff too) without having to delete them and start from scratch!

pinterest edit link

Select the pin you wish to edit. I've chosen my most popular pin, which is supposed to lead to my Social Media Professionalism post! Up at the top right of the pin, select the Edit button, near the middle. (Circled in Yellow with a large arrow!)

You now have the opportunity to change a whole bunch of things, such as the board it's on, the caption, and what is important to this post... the link! Highlight the link, make sure you grab the correct link to your post and paste it.

save link pinterest

Make any other tweaks you'd like and click save! Now your pin points to the correct link, and say bye-bye to that Error 404 page!

I hope this was helpful for some of you who have some popular pins you don't want to lose! Also, don't forget to follow me on Pinterest!
